How do you find out if a manufactured home in Kansas was moved?
In Kansas, manufactured home titles run through the county treasurer's office for the Department of Revenue's Division of Vehicles. A home made part of the land has had its title eliminated, with a record at the county Register of Deeds.
Where the records are
- Title records. The Kansas Department of Revenue's Division of Vehicles titles manufactured homes, and applications are made at the county treasurer's office.
- Title elimination. A home on a permanent foundation can have its title eliminated: the Division of Vehicles approves the application and it is recorded with the county Register of Deeds.
- Installation. Kansas requires manufactured home installers to be licensed. If you know who set the home, ask them for the installation paperwork.
- The home itself. When the paper trail stops, an engineer inspects the home and reports what the installation shows.
